Nistune 0.10 Release

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
I will give this a try on my W7 machine and report back ..
Also the whole procedure with moving the directories should be optional.
....
Nistune never came about moving all files, there was always some error.
(Maybe permisssions?)

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
Installer was updated to ask about moving directories
Inside the application if the directory doesn't exist it will use the new default directory (under My Documents)

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
Not good. The log files dont show any issues now from what you have posted. So there must be something else which I am missing. I'm running on on Win7 continuously these days now that I'm moving all my apps onto this new PCreveiwing the same VLT log I'd made earlier today from an older nis type 1 board. left nis running whilst blogging away.
Yeah I'm pulling a different string from the definition file, I'll use the original oneI noticed also that maf Hp values are missing this flavour of nis.
Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
just doubled checked if log files were in network shares as I use a W2k8 AD running dfs for shares here.
... but not the case log files are on local hdd.
although I do on occasion use bins and review logs from network shares as I can manage version control easily when working in the field and later reveiwing data offline.
I have tried to reproduce the crash but alas.. no go also.
could it have anything to do with bluetooth or wireless connections being switched on/off during an offline log play session?
I tried reproducing that possibilty but no go.
my spare W7 PC doesn't exibit log player crashes since installing 2.3.1 and 0.10.11 over the top of the previous versions.
all good all round at the mo. even tried to close during fast playback as you mentioned and all good. it only complained with a message box "play end timed out". clicked ok and all good.

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
I had another report via email that the log player still can crash with 0.10.11 so you arent the only one, but obviously not as often especially if you cant repeat there and I cant even repeat at all!I have tried to reproduce the crash but alas.. no go also
So there is a second cause there but a lot more difficult to repeat with no evidence of problems in the log file.... I'll hammer the log player this week and see if I can repeat
Bluewooth/wireless should make no difference but I was thinking where logs were stored (shared folder) may introduce the delay (your prior debug log on older versions appeared to be on a shared drive)
Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
here's another log player bug.. the file name description is hard to read when over 43 or so characters long.

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
Looks like windows is wrapping the string to the next line. I'll have to crop to the end characters of the filename so it doesnt do that
Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
Is it possible to make the log player (top section) window adjustable and stick to its last position?
Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
Hi!
The log plays fine on my laptop (W7/64)

Yes and yes but no for the firstIs it possible to make the log player (top section) window adjustable and stick to its last position?
It is possible to make those windows resizable but then I have to add a heap of code to rearrange all the buttons (of which there are many) etc just to see the filename. Its possible but not really worth the amount of time to implement. I can crop the file name and put up a tooltip to display the full name when hovering over it
I can make the log player remember its last position like with the windows
Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
tool tips will work fine !!
Sticky windows, make for quicker setup. Nice but not essential.

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
Yeah I put the tooltip for file name in there for BIN files. About 5 lines of code so not too bad
Re: Nistune 0.10 Release
Yeah ... good point, 'squeeze that one in' before you get rid of the code for EGA-Based-Laptops.
(or was it CGA?)
Btw. what does the flag PS stand for?
__ PS __ __ TP __ __
?

PS = Power steering
Resolution on netbooks can be pretty low. Whilst my Acer One is 1366x768 (HD) most are about 1024x600 (WSVGA) and some models even lower at 800x480 (WVGA)
