Hi!

I have test this address file but my idle timing on consult is at 9 instead of 15.

And the Idle Gear Timing table is out (minus 6 degres).

Sorry I have got this thread on my investigate list in my email inbox (I put a post note there)

You can adjust the offset values for now with those consult parameters if you find it is out using notepad on the S13_CA18_256_E.adr file

However what are you comparing consult against (timing light or maps?)

The base of the main timing map should be 15 degrees when 800rpm low load, 80 degrees water temp

Just tested again with both TPS on/off using latest rev14 (fixed registers) and also using address file S13_CA18_256_E_fix.adr for older rev boards

Screen shots look good ... if you can post yours, see what the difference is

Wow, I thought I have some mystique problem with my ECU but you have the same - 9 degrees at idle? I didn't notice when it happened so didn't think it was file.
So is it incorrect address file?
base map at 800rpm lowest load is 15(filtered), 31 in idle timing table
P.S. I get -1 degree when TPS is off :shock:

Make sure you are using the file S13_CA18_256_E_fix.adr

This is available in the Misc subdirectory of the address.zip file in the downloads area

It has a parameter in there to override the 'old' timing address we were retrieving and use a new one. I've updated the consult table in the firmware now for new boards released with the updated addresses

Yes this is the correct file...
contains these:

#ECU SPECIFIC PARAMETERS
NTLOOKUPID=32
CONSULT_TIMING_OFFSET=6
IDLE_TIMING_MAP_OFFSET=21
TIMING_MAP_OFFSET=22
REGISTER_FIX=1

I also tried older file today, then it shows 15 degrees as it should be
older file:
#ECU SPECIFIC PARAMETERS
NTLOOKUPID=32
CONSULT_TIMING_OFFSET=16
TIMING_MAP_OFFSET=22

I have exactly the same thing as Vetal:

That last screen shot looks correct. Timing is showing up as 9 and if you enter File - Configuration - View Filtered Tables (tick) then it will apply an offset to the tables so ignition idle table is about 9-10 degrees

Dont know about the -1 with what you reported Vetal. This is when the TPS Idle is off. Need to look into that one again

Yes, but the real timing is 15 with the timing light on the engine.

yepp, advance must be 15 degrees on idle, not 9

Makes sense to me. I'll have to revise the offsets. But that doesnt make sense why the final reported timing on consult changes between TPS switch on/off

To fix the idle timing table display to show 15 degrees BDTC change to the following in the address file
IDLE_TIMING_MAP_OFFSET=11

As for the consult reported value, I'm going to have to chase this again.

Currently there is an offset is reported Consult Timing value minus 6 for the timing map (TPS off) but no offset for the idle map (TPS on)

If possible could you please check the reported timing on engine (timing light) with the main timing map (TPS off) after removing the CONSULT_TIMING_OFFSET parameter from the address file?

Trying to see what the engine is reporting as at say 800rpm (10 - 21 load points) against what is displayed on the main timing map

thanks
Matt

Okay I've had another look tonight

CONSULT_TIMING_OFFSET=0
IDLE_TIMING_MAP_OFFSET=16
TIMING_MAP_OFFSET=15

This seems to make everything line up with 15 degrees at idle. But the filtered timing map is now around 21 degrees when TPS is off (both on the map and on consult feedback)

Please confirm with timing light when throttle is slightly open if possible. Always assumed that around this area on timing map that it was 15 BDTC

Sorry I'm completely lost :) What do you want us to do?
Also, 21deg in main map isn't correct too...

Put my timing (with timing gun) back to 15 from 9 degrees which I put earlier when I thought I have some problem :)
