where i can buy (may be you have some link) device for knock detecting and what exactly you can recommend (may be like your device) ?Matt wrote:I'm running 17psi of boost in 98 octane here and we are using knock microphone to detect detonation you could not possibly hear from the drivers seatabout fuel and ign timing - as i understood you have ER34 RB25DET NEO like me, so the question is why your timing is twice less than my ?![]()
My fuel is not 10:1 have a look herewhat afr target is optimum, on some forums (and in nissan ecu tunung basics) they say near 12:1, your fuel is 10:1 on maximum boost, so i really cant understand what is the optimum

My R34 is in there showing the end pipe AFRs. The figures in the fuel map are indicative only we used the filtered values when runing and watch the wideband. You should do the same...
You should be aiming for 12:1 on the wideband and get some knock sensing headphones/device fast... you may be detonating and not knowing it...
Havent done time trials etc ... too much boost and cant keep the car straight

PL has the Knocklite but tends to use microphone in engine bay. Also others on here use KS-3/KS-4 discussion here:

This requires a bit of research to find what results people have had with the devices. I'm not in a position to comment on these units since I'm not that familiar with them
