Car idles 11.3 AFR with K value=0 and Latency=70 us !?!

Hi

Was helping a friend to tune his car yesterday, ca18det with nismo pink 555cc. nothing I did made the car run lean as the topic reads i had the K value at 0 and the latency down to around 70 us and the dam car still ran rich during idle and when revving.

The only thing the car seem to respond to is when I lowered the TTPmax to around 0 then the AFR started to read up towards 18 and the car would sputter and die. I noticed that just changing the highlighted cell in the TTPmax table didn’t do it I had to change the whole series of cells up or down to get a response from the Inj time.

I have asked him to change back to the skyline 440cc injectors and we will have another go at it tomorrow, Il report back then.

There is something very fishy with the TTPmax and min tables in Nistune.

Regards

John

put this in your C:\Program Files\Nistune\Address directory

TTPMin will be proper values then. Its actually 1/10 of the displayed values and I've fixed it for the next release

Whats your injector pulsewidth? I maanged to get 0.6ms with 0 latency, lowest k constant and TTPmin set to 0

Sorry to highjack this topic but, Matt I'm getting an error message when I use that new address file... unless I need to run the latest beta version... I'm using the 0.9.6b version... gonna try and install the latest version...

edit: problem solved, updated to latest beta version.

Great Matt! I will try it tonight. Just put the file in the Adress directory or should I in Nistune do "File -> Open adress file" and select this as well?

Injector PW when running rich was something like 2.8ms then when changing the TTPmax down the PW whent down to around 1.6ms befor the car died, but it was so unstable i dont know realy.

I will record a logg file tonight and post it here.

Cheers!

if you just replace the old file with that new one, I think you won't have no problems ;)

Just drop that address file in the directory... you dont need to reload since the S13_CA18DET address file includes this base CA18 address file

Yes I need to get the next version out with this change in so everyone has it... just trying to finish a few things and test before I do that (including logworks 3 updates)

Status update.

The new adress file made the car react more to the changes but when driving on the road strange things started to happen and after a lot of trouble shooting I condemned his fuel pump to HELL!!, it couldn’t deliver enough pressure so nothing really got done in Nistune :-( His fixing a new pump and we will probably be at it again next week.

The problem we had with the idle could be a mix of both the pump not giving correct pressure and the TPmin values. Yesterday with the new address file I think i got a bit closer to 14,7 at idle but when going on boost and AFRs just getting higher the more injection time I added it didn’t seem worth it to bother with the idle until the new pump is fitted.

do I need to re-tune the fuelmap if I install this address file?

why would you use this address file when a more recent one is present with the latest software release ?
