hey guys,
im using 1000cc injectors, with a q45 maf. my new calculated injection multiplier is 18079 and my latency is 720. My afr's are bottomed out at 10 on my gauge during idle. The only way to bring it up to 11.1-3 is to put my latency down to 0 and multiplier down low, but that doesnt seem right to me. ( i also have as much fuel backed out as possible on the fuel map). should i be adjusting my enrichment tables? My low afm voltage enrichment triger is at '0'. Is this right?
thanks dudes, im new to the game!! please help!!!

When you did the tuning did you convert to the new injectors first and then the new maf? I know it won't work the other way around, because the larger maf new value will overflow the 16bit number the ecu uses as the K constant.

yes i did convert the injectors first. but like i said, i can put my latency and multiplier to zero and that will just start to bring my afr`s up into the 11`s. Are you saything that if i were to convert the maf first, then the injectors, it could improperly change my ttp max and min? i just feel like there is a way to shortin my pulse width during idle that i dont know about!! thanks

maybe pull the ttpmin lower and see if this leans out the idle a bit. what is the least you can get your injection pulsewidth to?
I've added a warning if your MAF resize is going to overflow now

How much fuel pressure? how much boost? how much psi can fuel pump support? what type of fuel pressure reg do you have, 1:1 ,1:1.25 etc?

my ttpmin is set at 1 allready. What do i need to log my injection pulsewidth? i have the serial to usb connector on order so i can connect my AEM wideband.
Aeromotive FPR with a 1:1
base fuel pressure at 22psi
10 psi of boost
wallborrow 255 fuel pump
Thanks.

mechanically sounds it's as low as can be, are you sure this a problem just at idle or are you struggling at low loads and under vacuum (say under 3000rpm) also?
have you checked your spark plugs? check to see if they all look the same after 5 minutes of idle running. if there's an odd one than maybe it's leaking.
is the injector impedance matching the ecu drivers? using resistors on wrong injectors can cause poor control at low ttp's.
is your temp sensors behaving operating correctly? ecu may think its cold etc using extra enrichment.

open up the log player and hit record. injection pulsewidth is selected by default when you connect to consult

From the start, I have been taking short runs with the car for some tuning under boost. My idle was allways rich and i could never get it to lean out, but when i was under load my afrs were acceptable. I decided to take a 1 hour ride out to the city to break the motor in, seat the rings, ect. Upon my arivle my car would stall at every light as soon as i would let off the gas. (which hasent happend before.)
i fouled my plugs that day. since then (with new plugs) my car still idles rich, but now as i rev the motor, i get alot of backfiring (which has never happend before). i have noticed that my oil is really black. (To me this seems expected from a motor break in.) but i will changed it before i attempt to take my car back home.
After i bring my car to temp and let it idle on its own. My afr`s stay at 10, my rpm bounces from 700-1100 then after a few seconds my RPM will drop and my afrs will go from 10 all way around to 17.9 then stall out.
At 3000RPM (not moving) i`m still rich.
My plugs all look the same after 5 mins. ( Black as hell )
My Rc Engineering 1000cc injectors are low impedence. I used a resistor box to lower the current that was needed for my stalk injectors.
As for the temp sensor, it seems to be working properly. Comes up to temp at around 80 C. on my cruise out to the city it was sitting at 97.
Thankss.

If your oil is contaminating that quickly your Wideband will not work well as there are a few things they hate, 1-Oil in the exhaust, 2-Coolant in the exhaust, 3-cheap Silican sealant and 4-Excessive Richness. these things all shorten WB sensor life from thousands of Year's down to hours and their output will be hopelessly inaccurate.
The reason your idle jumps around 400RPM is interesting, your cam is either really lumpy and/or Map sensor is getting a varying low vacuum signal causes enrichment by ecu. that's all that comes to mind on that one unless a vaccum leak is apparent. Is your Brake Booster ok?
More checking/testing and diagnosis is required, Nistune may give you some clues unless it's the ecu that is faulty it doesn't sound like a Nistune Problem. More like a faulty sensor or vacuum leak.
If your oil is contaminating in just a few 100km's then your engin most likely has issues to look into before even attempting to tune. turbo, headgasket etc.
Sometimes an exhaust leak prior to the O2 sensors can cause lean readings to ecu causing extra enrichment to compensate. Have you turned off O2 sensors when adjusting your fuel maps?

Ok Matt, my injector time is 2ms at 1000rpm. i have noticed that my cold start neutral secondart vs. coolant temp enrichment is set to 200 @ -40, 160 @ 0, and 200 @ 110 C. The curve isnt even on the chart its so high. Also, my temp enrichment is set to 166 @ -40. again the curve is off the chart. is this normal??
Thanks.
