Does Cursor Follow Work?

I'm heading to the dyno tomorrow with the intent to use the cursor follow option while doing some steady state tuning. Does it work? Do I select it and that's it?
i played with it yesterday, it works if you are working from the 3D graphic view but not from the grid view
i've got a new version coming out tonight with 4 + 1 cell maptrace
