if an ecu has been pinlocked does this mean we cannot read the mapping nor overwrite?

or does this mean we can overwrite but not read.

It means that you cannot read/write memory to the board (sync both ways will not function)

If you wish to write over then you need to use a base image programmer and put the stock image back onto the board
