Matt, I think you mentioned something about password protection before. Any thoughts on this?
You mentioned password protecting the areas of the bin that dont normally need modifying and could screw things up. Definitely a good idea.
What about password protecting any changes to the bin? Any way to do this? Do you feel there is a need for it?

with changes being stored on NVRAM it is not that difficult to pull them out as it is to program them. at this stage i wasn't considering protecting the map contents as usually that board will belong to the individual user
if a tuner tuning these boards wanted to password protect and there was sufficient need we could make the read map / read rom feature disabled unless a valid user code was entered prior to 'unlock' the rom
