maps & tables

Post by curbcheck »

I've noticed that on top of adjusting fuel and timing maps that every other tune i look at, most of the other tables & maps have been adjusted too. When we (me and my tuner) tried to tune my car on the dyno most of this stuff was left stock and we played hell trying to tune it. I looked at other peoples tunes and adjusted my tables to match theirs (other then fuel and timing) and my car started to cooperate better. I'm not talking about k values, latency or anything like that. I'm talking about enrichment tables, limit tables, timing tables, ect... I would like to know what all these tables control and what do they mean? (my tuner couldn't tell me what half these tables where used for) So if you know what the table stands for please copy and past the list and add the meaning onto it. hopefully between everyone here we can completely get the list filled out. If my definitions are wrong please correct it.

MAPS
fuel map-used to make further adj to AFR's.
knock fuel- map used when knock is detected
timing map- used to make adj to timing values
know timing- map used when knock is detected

SCALERS
Fuel load scale- used to adj load scale on fuel map
ign load scale- used to adj load scale on timing map
fuel RPM scale- used to adj RPM scale on fuel map
ign RPM scale- used to adj RPM scale on timing map

LIMIT TABLES
min TPulse width- the smallest time that the injectors will be allowed to open for that given RPM.
max TPulse width- the maximum time that the injectors will be allowed to open for that given RPM.
Q-offset- ???
TP load limit- If you go above the set TP values for the given RPM, the ecu will cut fuel (boost cut).
fuel recovery- ???
fuel cut- ???

ENRICHMENT TABLES
increase fuel-???
cold neutral main enrich-???
cold main enrich-???
cold secondary enrich-???
temp enrich- ???
throttle enrich-???
cold throttle enrich-???
tps enrich trigger-???
throttle open offset-???
crank enrich- ???
crank enrich offset-???
engine crank offset-???
decel loss ratio-???
decel loss rpm-???
decl loss- temp-???

TIMING TABLES
dwell time- the charge time against battery voltage. should not need to be adj.
dwell duty- the % of time to charge the coil based off currant rpm. should not need to be adj.
crank adv.-the amount of timing used while cranking based off engine temp.
idle/decel rpm timing- used during idle/decel while in gear based on current rpm.
idle/decel rpm neutral timing used during idle/decel while in neutral based on current rpm.
timing adv,-???
timing adv decel-???
tps closed timing-???

IDLE CONTROL
idle speed rpm- to adj ecu idle speed based on temp
idle stabilization-???

MISC
maf translation-tells the ecu which VQ map to use
temp conv-???

INJECTION CONTROL
injection multiplier- sets you injector size
injection latency- tells injectors how fast to open close
volt latency-???

PLEASE COPY AND PASTE WITH THE CORRECT DEFINITIONS FOR THE TABLES
I know this will help me and i hope it may help others. thanx

rather than reinvent the wheel

here
http://www.nistune.com/docs/NIStune_Mapping_Guide.pdf

suggest making comments against that

also adding pink highlighting to indicate currently used maps (work in progress) and PL is doing a re-revision of this document at the moment
