laptop grounding question

I am having connection issues with Nistune also with Nissan data scan. In your "Installations and communications guide" in section 6 you guys stated that your laptop can be grounded via the usb point going into the laptop. How do I ground that usb point on the laptop to the cigarette lighter ground? Also is there a better way to improve the ground to the ecu such as running wire from the body to the outside case of the ecu?

Grounding the laptop is the last resort option. I used an alligator clip in my trials to the cigarette lighter ground during Type 1 board prototype and testing

With consult cables there has not been a need for this.Which consult cable are you using?

I am using the Blatz cable Matt. I mean I have everything grounded (head, battery, chassis, intake manifold) I'm using a apex'i super grounding box/voltage stabilizer, I just don't understand why I am having so much problems.

Battery is grounded to engine directly?

How frequent is the needle flickering inside NissanDataScan?

The battery at the moment is grounded using the factory ground point which is, Battery>body>engine block, I also have a additional ground wire running from, battery>top of strut tower.

When you say "needle" do you mean the box that shows the connection status that flashes from left to right?

You said you had issues with NDS also, I assume the needles on the gauges are flickering occasionally when there are data problems?
