RB25 z32 ECU - Quick Questions

Hey All,
I've pretty much gotten everything down and know how everything works. Been studying these forums as well as the installation guides and what not for the information that i need.
I've got a few concerns tho regarding some modding to the z32 ECU as i don't want to rewire/repine my harness for the fact that i may need to connect my RB25 ecu at some point.
I've got a series 2 RB25 but im running a series 1 ECU, harness, & coilpacks so i don't know if i should follow the series 1 guide or follow it as if i have a series 2.....
So my questions are:
1. Should i remove the resistor on the z32 ECU as mentioned in section 3 of the z32 ecu modification pdf?
2. Do i need to cut a track near IC621 on the z32 ECU for FCID? (Again, i don't know whether to do s1 or s2 mods to the ECU)
3. Do i add a 2K resistor between pin 36 & pin 30?
Sorry for the confusion guys, I'm just not sure what i should do and don't want to ruin anything while attempting to do so.
Thank you for the input.

OK, I typed out a long winded reply and the system logged me out and I lost it. So here's the short reply.
I usually only do 2 mods to these:
- the resistor mod for fuel temp (fit 2K resistor across pins 30 & 36)
- the O2 sensor link mod (link pin 29 to 55)
For the FICD part, just pull the exhaust overtemp lamp out of the dash.

Gotcha! Thanks I really appreciate the help, didn't want to mess anything up.
I can understand why you didn't do the knock sensors. I wasnt planning on doing that mod either; I hear it's just way too sensitive that way and it's not like im racing my car lol!
Why didn't you do the throttle switch input or the power steering? Steps #3 & 4

The pwr steer/rad fan thing doesn't seem to be a problem and I'm not sure what you mean about the throttle switch. I've got a different version of the doc to what you have. Where is the latest one? Did Matt put it up on his wwebsite?

Yes, I do ...
The resistor-mod for the fuel temp is different on S2.
On S2 another track has to be modified (I don't know if this is reflected in the PDF)
Sensitivity is not an issue with the knock sensors
O2-Sensor.. has to be changed.

You have to modify the ECU, the loom stays 'as is'

Hrmm....Yes i believe it has been updated. I'm just unaware if i should follow the series 2 guide or series 1 considering I have a Series 2 motor but Series 1 coil packs/ ecu / harness (so pretty much s1 rb25?)
Here is this pdf file

Right.....But again, i am not sure if i follow the S1 mod's or the S2?! I have explained my situation in the original post. I know HOW to do all the mods, just don't know if i follow the guide as if i have a s1 or s2 RB25.
I also know that i don't mess with the harness, hence modding the ECU.........

Since you wrote that you have a S2, I'm now confused because now write you have the S1 loom?
If you have the S2 (loom) follow S2
The only real issue is with the fuel temp sensor, on S2 you would have to change a track on the pcb.
Let me have a look at the PDF ...

Hi ..
I had a quick look at the PDF.
Series 2 does not have a throttle position switch (nor does S1)
(that needs to be updated in the pdf)
Points from PDF:
1. Up to you ... I have both sensors connected
2. You should bridge the O2 signal!
3. Removing the resistor is not necessary (has not been confirmed by Matt, but is my finding)
4. Needs to be done on S1 and S2
5. Needs to be done on S1 and S2
6. Is correct (follow S2 notes)
7. As per document
I hope that helps, also I hope you're good at soldering and have the proper tools

I've written this in the original post.
Let me try to explain.
When i picked up my car, it had a S2 RB25 w/ 740cc injector, ITS GT-74 Turbo, Haltech w/ Loom
This was a FAT gas guzzler. I live the city over from work and 1 drive to and from work would leave me with half a tank left of gas. I had decided to go back to stock setup as this was just not economically friendly.
I purchased s1 loom, coil packs, ECU, injectors, turbo from a forum member. Everything is working great on my engine as you can mix match ECU's but need to match the coil packs with it as the S2 ignitor is in the ecu whereas the s1 has the ignitor as a separate unit.
So pretty much im lost in which to follow. I hope this has made sense.

OK
So the loom from the ECU to the rest of the car is S1?
In that case follow what I wrote and stick to S1!
(That would be my guess!)

Hopefully your "guess" is right! I don't really like guessing lol.
Yeah, i figured i would be following the s1 guide just wanted to be sure.
I figured i would remove the resistor as neither engines use it so to be on the safe side remove it?

My guess is the best I can offer since I don't know your car
But I am 90% certain it will work.
I have a S2, and I don't like guessing as well
Removing the resistor is a piece of cake compared to the rest of the work
Watch out if you remove the EPROM!!!
