RB25: converting from high impedence to low....Do I.....

Just wondering is there a setting in nistune that can automatically convert from high to low impedence without having to wire in a resistor box? I have a type-II board from a z32.

Thanks

No, I don't think so !

It's not a setting I'm afraid, it's more of an electronic hardware difference and the only way around it is to add the resistance to the injector wiring to lower current draw so not to pop the ECU in to smoke.

Definitely not. All the ECU's (that I've looked at) use the same injector driver chip. Which expects high impedance - whether it be a high impedance injector or low impedance injector + resistor.

The Classic R31's (VL's) might be the only ECU that has the low impedance driver transistor. Old school tough!!

I thought those old ECU's would use vacuum tubes to drive the injectors??!! ;)

The old VL's used PWM current control techniques to fire the injectors. They will drive 5 injectors per bank and not suffer failure in extensive road testing (read 10's of thousands of KM's).
Just don't ask why there was 10 injectors on this one particular car.. !!!!

Or I'll go past you both with my old school L28, non crossflow 713hp monsters.. :D
Using a VL ECU of course....
