Hi guys, just started out with nistune and im reading everything i can on every subject google throws at me + the guides on this forum.

But i have a problem with my car going into limp mode, it only does it with the new installation not the standard ecu.
I had Matt install the daughterboard? im not very handy with a soldering iron.

Anyway the problem, car starts up and idles fine. Temp goes up to around 80-81 and the car goes into limp mode.
I have tried logging as much as i can and there are no changes before it goes into limp mode.
I set the timing to 15 deg. tps to .45 volts and checked the afm volts at idle (1.1-1.3)

I have also disconnected and reconnected the 02 sensor (new) and the coolant temp sensor and nothing changes.
I really cant see why it would be going into limp mode, so any help or ideas to test would be greatly appreciated.

Car:
r33 s1 rb25det
z32 ecu
3 inch exhaust
pod filter
New walbro fuel pump
new coils & plugs
new thermostat
New fuel filter
Eboost street
everything else is standard, i have a z32 afm to go in but i dont want to try anything else until i sort out this problem.
Oh and i dont have a wideband hooked up yet.

Any ideas anyone??
Cheers

Edit: no fault codes come up (55) but i have to let the engine cool before consult connects.

Just happened again at 72 degrees, maybe i should be looking for other problems.

Weird it doesnt happen with the stock ecu.

Can't seem to get it out of limp mode now, starting to regret this.

When you say the ECU is going limp mode - is consult disconnecting on your and you are getting the check engine light?

What are the problems that you are seeing when it goes limp?

If you bang the ECU casing does this cause the problem? If there is indeed a soldering issue or another problem with the ECU would need it sent back here and I can check on the bench to see what is going on

Hi Matt,
Yep consult disconnects. ive done as many logs as i could but im not sure what im meant to be logging because i dont know why its doing it.
Every log i have done just stops (lines drop to zero) not one problem has shown.
Coolant temp was my first thought but it's started doing it earlier than 82 degrees.

I have this issue at idle, just sitting there. the ecu was bolted in so no jarring.
I also took it for a drive and it ran really well, then nothing. Limp mode.
The ecu light does come on and it runs extremely rich and chugs until i turn it off.

After that its hit and miss whether it's still in limp mode when i turn it on, no dtc codes.

Cheers
