Type 2 board clearance problem in Z32 ecu

Looks like there is no way of installing type 2 board into Z32 ecu without capacitor C570 touching one of the pins on the board and over time short the pins on the board.

If it's the big cap on the knock board that sits on top then yes, I've seen this problem before. I can normally just bend the cap over and get enough clearance but sometimes you need to heat the solder joints of the cap to get a bit more lead length so it can be leaned over far enough.

I also add some double-sided foam tape (just the thin stuff - 1 to 2mm thick) to the area where the cap might touch the board just in case.

Part of Z32 Type 2 installation instructions:
NOTE: Put several layers of insulation tape or foam between the knock sensor cable and the
Nistune board so that the socket pins poking through do not protrude through the knock
sensor cable.
I normally fold all the capacitors over so they clear the Type 2 board. Then place foam between the board and knock sensor to avoid anything touching

It's funny that you guys bring this up because I just recently thought
that this issue is not included in the HW-Manual.

I modified two Z32 ECUs and both ECUs had this clearance problem.

From my experience the solder-points of the capacitor have to be reheated while bending the
capacitor carefully to one side. Watch out that the CAP does not slide out too far and give it a bit of new solder as well.

Just bending the cap without giving the solder-points a re=heat could damage it.

It is also good practice to reseal the PCB with a plastic spray.

I have included a picture to give you an idea :)

Updated Type 2 installation manual. Borrowed your pic in the Z32 section 8)
