Boost gauge compatible with nistune
s14 ka24de auto ecu
I have been going round and round with this, I need a boost controller that i can get a reading from in nistune for tuning purposes. What boost gauge can I go buy to interface with nistune?

Re: Boost gauge compatible with nistune
I dont have any specific recommendations for a guage. Just make sure it has a 0-5 volt output and you can link that into your wideband controller (LM-2, zeitronix, DLP A/D converter) which has an aux input
Or separately use a motorola boost sensor:

Small, cheap and can be connected to your wideband controller for boost display. It what I use (with a DLP A/D converter)

Re: Boost gauge compatible with nistune
Is that 0-5v analog or serial? I assume serial but want to be sure
Re: Boost gauge compatible with nistune
Motorola sensor is analog 0-5 output. DLP/LM-2 converts to USB
Re: Boost gauge compatible with nistune
When you say DLP/LM-2 are you just talking about a RS232 to usb converter? Do you happen to know what pin on the serial wire i would use for the signal? ? I have an AEM failsafe gauge so I should be able to use the boost output signal from that.Matt wrote:Motorola sensor is analog 0-5 output. DLP/LM-2 converts to USB
Re: Boost gauge compatible with nistune
Those are wideband / voltage converter to USB devices
The AEM failsafe you can connect via serial directly into the laptop. You will need to check the documentation which came with the unit

Re: Boost gauge compatible with nistune
Ya unfortunately the documentation just says to connect it to your data logging equipment, it doesnt say how or anything. You cant hook up the Failsafe gauge the same way you do the uego its missing a data wire (blue in the uego). I have it hooked up via usb right now, if i run the boost wire through serial how do i interface it with nistune? Do i just select the uego/boost option for the second wideband option?
Re: Boost gauge compatible with nistune
Yes that is correct, select the UEGO/boost option
I'm not sure on how that unit connects to the laptop.

Re: Boost gauge compatible with nistune
After doing some more reading up on the DLP devices I believe I need one for it to read boost, plus i can just have my AFRs and boost all through one usb vs a USB and serial. I went ahead and ordered one last night so hopefully this will alleviate my problems. Thanks for the shove in the right direction Matt, a ton of help as always!Matt wrote:Yes that is correct, select the UEGO/boost option

Thanks Again man!
Re: Boost gauge compatible with nistune
No probs. Using one of these is definitely a good option, that way you have all your inputs in the one place and its very high speed compared to the UEGO 9600bps output
Re: Boost gauge compatible with nistune
Ya im excited to get it! Should be here tomorrow, I will try to document my process for anyone else who stumbles on this thread!Matt wrote:No probs.
