CA18DET JDM / EDM ECU variable intake soleniod question

Hello nistuners
I have an EDM CA18DET FP ECU. Because I will install the JDM cylinder head with the butterfly intake system soon, I tested if this is ready to work with my EDM ECU. So I hocked up an ohm meter in between pin 8 an ground to see if/when it is switching to ground.
This did not work unfortunately.
Then I opened the ECU an followed the circuit path from pin 8. It ends up at an empty transistor space (T365).

I checked some pictures of an JDM ECU and at exactly that position there is a transistor that looks like all the other transistors in the ECU (NEC D1695). I welded in such a transistor.

But it still does not switch at rising rpm (I tried till redline).
In nistune I compared my installed image with an JDM CA18DET image and there is no difference at relevant places.
As far as I could see there is no other hardware difference except for the missing transistor that I retrofitted.
Is there somehow some other software/image related difference between the EDM and JDM ECU that makes the pin 8 switching on my ECU not work?
I know this is a very specific topic but I hope that someone knows more about that - maybe Matt?

You may need the JDM CA18DET program on your board itself, which would have the code to do the switching. Other code may not have it or there might be a flag (parameter) which is not in our software that is disabled to switch it on

Thanks for the quick reply. How do I get the JDM program on my board? Do you mean simply load the JDM image onto it, or would I need to send it in for a kind of a deeper flashing?

Take board out and reprogram with 36F0F JDM image with base image programmer (deeper flashing as you mention)

I have an eprom programmer... can it be done with that? If not, who would be able to do it in Germany?

Not with eprom programmer

Yeah I found out. I would need a Nistune Base Image Programmer, or someone that has that programmer and provides that service.
Thanks for the infos

edit:
I just saw that you mentioned the "base image programmer" before . When I read it I didn't get that it is a specific hardware like it is.

To complete this:
Changing to the JDM base image did the job :D The switching is working now.
Thanks for the hint Matt :)
By the way, the transistor can be taken from the slot T311. That one has no function (output goes to an empty pin) and it is the right part to make it work.
