Old question, factory oxygen sensor?

Post by shanegarrison »

I have a 86 Nissan 300zx with a lot of modifications. Big turbo, big injectors, big cam, Nistune MAF sensor, AEM wide band. I know the answer is here somewhere. I've seen it before but can't find it now. Will the factory o2 sensor work against me when trying to set injectors for a certain air/fuel ratio? Should I just not use the factory o2 sensor?

If the O2 sensor is working fine (shows lambda @ 14.7:1 AFR), then at cruise when you have your base mixtures set correctly, it should not 'trim' against your intended tune. Your trims should be near 0% at cruise (say 2000rpm light load driving)
