crank no start

Post by r34rory »

Hello All.

I have a question. After work has been done to my car, 1000CC Bosch ev14, R35 GTR MAF, Walbro 460/450 and hardwired pump with relay, and the usual top mount turbo stuff. I have used NIStune to do the new injector dropdown menu and same with the r35 maf in 3” tube.

The car did actually start and run after this, after a few attempts a cranking. Now it will no longer start. It won’t start at all just cranks continuously. It idled fine I’m not quite sure why it won’t start now seems weird. I have drained all the old stale fuel and put fresh in. I’m quite sure it’s just the map ? Or maybe fouled plugs now ? Will need to inspect them.

Now the problem is I’m planning on replacing the clutch to an uprated one before it hits the dyno but the car needs started to get up my driveway

My question is, if I was to upload my map or bin file or whatever it’s called, would anyone be able to kindly have a look at it and see if we can get the car started again ?

I apologise if this is a bit cheeky !

Kind regards, Rory.

Hey Rory

Did you burn in the tune after the changes? Could you post the tune here?

Hello Matt, yeah I burned it in. That’s great I’ll grab the file today and reply again later with the file.

Thanks.

Uploaded file doesn't seem right (like non feature pack version). Would reload the AA57F from the ROM pack and start the process again

I will give that a go. I'm just curious in what the order of operations are regarding MAF and Injectors. Is it MAF then Injectors or Injectors then MAF?

Also, should I leave cranking tables ticked or unticked? (1000cc BOSCH) I'm guessing unticked as "Setup Assistance" says "Only use for smaller injectors".
Do I leave TIM as my car is non feature pack ? however adjust DIM as its later model NEO? Is there anything I have missed?

P.S I don't think I had the FP2 or the ROM file pack download installed, I can't remember which one however I only saw one of those files in my downloads. I have removed everything and installed again in the following order;
Nistune Version 1.4.3 first
ROM File Pack 2.14 second
Nistune FP 2.0 ROM File Pack 2.21third

Maybe that was why you thought the file did not seem right?
Thanks !

Reloaded factory file and did process again. Started first turn of the key even though it’s been sat unturned for a month. AFRs seem a lot better. It was actually stoich then it slowly crept upto 15odds.

You would find using the software, it will make you change MAF first and then injectors. This is also covered in the tuning guides on our website
Also, should I leave cranking tables ticked or unticked? (1000cc BOSCH) I'm guessing unticked as "Setup Assistance" says "Only use for smaller injectors".
Leave unticked and aim around 6-8ms crank time for bosh injectors
Do I leave TIM as my car is non feature pack ? however adjust DIM as its later model NEO?
AA57F = Feature pack 1. It has TIM and you can use it

Yes that order of install is correct. It should be covered in the 'Software users manual' how to install

Thanks for the update. That is good. You will find about 1150uS for latency and fuel map will need lowering due to about 3.5 size of the original injectors
