MFC thing

Post by JCD »

Hi Matt,

I've got this popup from time to time
http://ibconceptions.com/Nistune/files/mfc_206.jpg
on the laptop and on the desktop too.
Using NIStune_0.9248_setup.exe and the S13_CA18_256_E_fix.adr (with the # removed in that one line).
There are some other viewer issues too but that might be me being dumb
I'll try to put that into words and post in another topic.
Let me know if you need a log.
Cheers

thats a software crash :(

let me know what you are doing when it happens and if it is repeatable, I'll repeat here and find the cause of the problem

log files may help, but may not be necessary if I can repeat the steps

looks like you were doing some logging stuff? I'm working on logging at the moment (not saving all log files) so will do some extra testing around that area

I have had a couple too, but not repeatable I'm afraid. I can't remember the exact circumstances when it happens, I'll pay more attention next time.

What I do:
1. Start Nistune
2. F7
3. Open the Wideband Input Tracer (Operations - Wideband Input Tracer)
4. Close the Wideband Input tracer
5. Close the Log Player
Then the Nistune program closes. I don't get that MFC popup but that might be because I'm at work ATM and working on a corporate network PC so things might behave differently. But anyway, this behaviour is reproducable.
When I play a log (between point 3 and 4), things do just the same.
Attached the debug log.

I don't want to sound negative but as I've planned a track session on wednesday I would prefer to have this logging and playing working without problems. Can I just reinstall a previous version (NIStune Version 0.9247 for example) by running the exe?

You can install over the top of previous versions without difficulty, but replacing the EXE by itself will not work

However I havent changed the logging code for a while and am currently in the middle on working on getting the glitches out

Given I've only just found out about this crash, see what I can do tomorrow night in regards to finding the cause and stopping it.

Been trying the previous versions. The problem exists from0.9233 on. Older versions don't have it.
Attached the content of the windows error report.
Hope it helps.

thanks for finding that. I'll have a look into it. I've had ECUs and Type 4 prototypes arrive over last few days so havent had the time yet

Repeated the steps. Got the problem. I'll try and get a 'beta' fix up tonight. But some of the logging stop/playback fixups are currently still work in progress.

There's no hurry.
I could record my logs today on the track and I will analyse them during the weekend.
Take it easy :)

but take it
