Extending the fuel and timing maps?

Is it a software issue or is it hardware? SR20DE ecu out of the USA B13 SE-R sentra. I know the ecu doesnt read anything over 8000 which is a problem. I run the SR20VE engine and a few of my friends have the same problem. They rev out to 9000-9500k (Big Cams and springs) but we had to just set the last cell richer so when it revs out it doesnt go lean from 8k to 9k. Were not even sure if the timing is falling or staying the same that high in the RPM. So software? or hardware limited?

neither software or hardware

try open your fuel or timing table select raw values click on your constant /normaliser or whatever there called in nissan software change the value to 9500 or what ever you like then change the next value etc.

Do you mean change the RPM load value to reflect what I'm reving too? I tried that but that didn't change anything. Unless you mean using the hex editor in which case I suck really bad at that.

Normally the ECU should interpolate beyond the last RPM cells onwards

What do your RPM scales look like right now for your fuel and timing maps? Have they been increased to accomodate for higher RPMs?

Increase the RPM values in the scales so you know the ECU is accessing those cells when in that area

After doing this. Looking at your consult timing gauge whilst the RPMs are in that area. Does it reflect about the same timing values on the map?

You can then adjust those cells accordingly for your new RPM scales

I tried it once on the dyno but it didn't seem to make a diffrence how we scaled it the car ran really rich once it got to the last cell. I can't rem if the timing stayed the same or not It's been a few months.

Should just be a simple matter of increasing the values in the RPM scales. I did this to an S13 SR20DE once. No problems. Easiest part of the whole tune.

I changed the RPM scales so the last value was 8500. No reason why you couldn't make it 9500. Then just adjust the other 15 values so you have a nice linear scale.

Looks like the max you could go to would be 12750rpm. Now them's big cams and springs! ;)

LoL cool thanks I'll try that out once I get my motor back together and order SR20 daughter board.

Do I need to adjust the TP scale when bumping up the rpm scale.

No, you can pretty much treat them as separate.
