Nistune Cannot find USB correct Drivers. ERROR

Post by akurtzer57 »

Where do I get the correct driver? When I plug into the ECU it pops up asking to open the driver?

Type 1 USB Drivers Installation Manual
http://www.nistune.com/docs/NIStune_USB ... ctions.pdf

Note that the drivers are now split into 98/ME/2K/XP and Vista directories but under C:\Program Files\Nistune subdirectories for Type 1

Okay good it is sorted. Yes vehicle type must be selected to ensure correct board type is used for search (Type 1 USB consult vs Type 2,3,4,5 over normal consult)

I'm having a problem downloading the software from my Type 1 board. I've tried to reinstall it a couple of times but nothing seems to work for me. I'm getting an error that says.....

Unable to execute file:c;\program files (x86)\Nistune\FTDI_Wink2K_xp_vista_Drivers\dpinst_amd64

createprocess failed; code 2
The system cannot find the file specified.

It's keeping me from connecting to the ECU and saying please reinstall type 1 driver but it keeps giving me the error when I reinstall. Not sure what to do

Please use the latest installer: Nistune Version 1.4.3 (EXE) 1 Apr 2023

FTDI renamed dpinst_amd64.exe to dpinst-amd64.exe in their latest update, so we had to fix this in the installer to match

Hey Matt, I got one last question for you. I got a 1987 na z31 ecu with a 88 to 89 fp1 nistune board. I'm still na and am trying to load a na base tune map but it doesn't allow me to import standard ecu files into feature pack. What do i need to do?

Tricky one. These are different files. You will need to File > Import selected maps and then select fuel, timing, all scales, K Constant and Latency. That will copy into the current turbo file, then upload (and save a copy of this for future use)

I got all the timing and copied it onto the feature pack map. i got my k constant at 607, my multiplier at 796, and my latency at 750. I got these numbers from the resize injectors. The na bin has the k constant at 850 and latency at 560. when I start the car on the Na bin k constant and latency it knocks at idle because it's too lean. The problems I'm running into are when I'm wot at around 3100 it has a stutter that u feel. Im not sure if it has something to do with not having the right k constant and it's too rich. When Im driving at wot fuel trim is pretty high in the negative like -10 for and -18. Not sure if being too rich can be causing the stutter or what.

i data logged it doing it but don't know how to have to paste it in here

Log files shows your board is 26P0F (1988 VG30ET ECU)
DESC: Z31 (VG30ET) 1988-89 FP1: Flex Fuel + Launch Control : : 26P0F

If you are using a nonturbo setup then we will use the K=850 constant and other non turbo maps from the 25P00 (non turbo) base file not the K=607 in the 26P00 turbo base, and leave Total injection multiplier at 512 (standard)
Z31_VG30ET_1988_26P0F_MT_NA_maps.bin

Let us know how you go with uploading this to the board

I tried out the tune you sent me and it still seems to have a stutter at about 3100 rpms, it goes away when I plug back in the nonnistune factory ecu. ill be wot and it pulls smooth but around 3100 it gets like a jolt.
