Unit: '91 J30 ecu
I've observed that the ECU doesn't switch to the gear map until 3k rpm (80ish mph) in 5th. I tested this by filling the fuel map with 14.7 and the gear map with 12.7.
I'm sure the second fuel map is the gear map as I can spin up to 90mph in 3rd and 4th without going rich. This also confirms that the switch is RPM and not MPH based.
Do any of the other ECU's have an RPM parameter to activate the gear map? It'd be great to locate this term so we can dial down the activation point...
Gear Fuel map RPM switch?

the Z32 is another ECU which has a high gear map
its a bit strange that it would be only RPM based (i suspect speed would be used to contribute towards this also - perhaps both) since then only a portion of the first fuel map would be used
added an investigate item to look into this later when i get time
