Hi there.
Well yesterday I had a bit of time so decided to do a half hour run with the laptop connected to the ECU, using NIStune offcourse, and noticed that on the consult gauges window, the one where you just have the speed and RPM gauges, the normal Consult Display, I don't get any ECU messages...
Is this right? I believe things like the fuel pump, the knock sensor, etc should appear on the ECU messages window with the 0 after them... correct?
Question about DTC's

Matt, I still haven't tried to do the TP sensor "trick" to give an error, but another thing I noticed is, that in the "active test" window, it doesn't show the DTC's... on both windows I tried to "reset" so it would re-check for errors, just like on the consult software I use on a friends s14, and nothing...
when I installed the board on the ECU I kept the "turning screw" on it's place, and got the USB plug out of the ECU with a little modding... should this cause any mal-function of some sort? plus, the screw is on its original position, didn't rotate it at all...
apart from this nistune works great on my car, and that little problem I had with the injector duty not showing up is gone...

S13 CA18 doesnt have standard Nissan consult with active testing, so that feature will not work like it does with normal consult enabled ECUs like S14 SR20 for example
The DTC codes if not present will not show in the window at all. If your window is empty thats all good!
If you want to trigger a fault easily, disconnect the coolant temp sensor plug and you will see a DTC code for that appear in the window
I wouldnt worry about no codes ... thats usually a good sign
