Re: R34 tuning - How much does an air filter affect things??
I'm not sure if the problem is in AFM, as injection duty seems consistent with AFM output - slight change in one causes slight change of another. It is AFR that seems wrong for the PW change. Purple R34 nismos flow 480cc/min at 3 bar of fuel pressure, so 1 ms PW delivers 8 cubic millimeters of fuel,...

Re: Z32MAF vs CobraMAF?
Agreed, my recent calculations based on Nismo data show that Z32 AFM is capable of ~580hp (1745 kg/h of air at 5.12V assuming 0.55lb/hp*hr SFC, 12:1 AFR). I have no factory data on Cobra AFM, but according to Internet sources it's limited to 1500-1550 kg/h of aif, which is roughly equal to 500-520hp...

Re: TPS Function
I always thought that it affects fuelling, providing acceleration enrichment? Dunno about timing effects.
BTW do you guys happen to know how to make ECU reset closed throttle position on R34 skylines?

Re: Launch control
Hey Stu, nice work! can you please make a video of your tests and your results? Curious to see your results. Also, i'd like to ask what exactly does your implementation of a LC do - does it provide antilag capabilities? ignition retard rev limiter? Or it is just a kind of speed/clutch position/other...

What does it do exactly? Standard rich fuelling & super retarded timing?

Re: Pics - How to spot a Z32 AFM copy
Interesting! Mine has no nissan badge, but has protective/flow stabilizing mesh on both sides of it. p/n 22680-30P00, orange sticker.
Those 'measuring elements' on a counterfeit one look dodgy as if they were home made.
May I enquire where do these fake afms come from?

Re: Nistune Crashes
I can confirm this. Situation is exactly similar to the above - crashed on active test attempt. OS is Vista Home Basic, Nistune ver. - latest .14b. Additional info from Vista system application log (eventvwr), if it is of any use. Application error in module Nistune 1.0.0.1, exception code 0xC000000...

Re: New 555cc inj's new z32 maf = flooding the cylenders
Hey, my message was not of any real help then, was it? :D However I'm glad that you figured out something that actually made your car work. Strange things like this can happen - I have seen a really strange combo here with a RB25 Neo. It had factory AFM, but nismo injectors that flow 480cc as oppose...

Actually, I think Nistune has got enough reputation already, so it does not require trial version at all.

Re: New 555cc inj's new z32 maf = flooding the cylenders
Hi, I'm not sure if this will be of any use, but here goes: I opened 54F01_1993_MT_FED, Stock K is 39720. When I use "Resize injectors" feature, if I click "Factory CC", is fills "275" in the first field, then I put 555 into the lower field, new K is 19681. Then I use &...

Thanks for info, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Bought siemenses for a friend here, going to install them as soon as they arrive. Will check their latencies and actual flow variations on a rig prior to installation, thank you for advice. From Saab guys i learned that siemenses really like to ...
