Actual diffrence between individual and tuners licence?

Post by B14SR20VET »

Just wondering what the diffrence is, and the 5 car limit; the limit doesn't include how many ADR(converted bin) files you view/burn, correct? Its actually the 5 diffrent ECU's its tuned...a little help?

Licence limitations applies to realtime side of things and also whether it supports emulation and all boards

Each ECU you connect counts its ECU ID (limited to 5 which you can sync to/from)
Each address file you open and connect with counts as a vehicle ID (limited to 3 you can sync to /from)

For those exceeding this then the upgrade to the workshop licence is needed (which also means discounts on boards and website listing)

So I can real time tune up to 5 cars but only view/edit up to 3 adr files ever? Once I view or edit over 3 it locks me out?

When you open the address file and then connect to consult using that address file - it then counts that address file. It will clock upto 3 of these, any more after this can still be opened/viewed/consult but just not synced

I've adjusted the code tonight so only when you actually sync on an ECU ID/address file will it then count it towards (so you can connect and diagnose, but only once you do the sync will it lock those ids in)

sorry for hijacking the thread, but I think my question is relevant to the topic.

I have a CA18DET S13 with a Nistune-powered ECU. I've now sold the engine to a guy I know, and I'm also selling him my laptop in case he needs to tweak the tune, cause I don't need it anyway (have a newer one).

I'm going to install an RB25DET into the car instead, with a Z32 ECU, but will be using my new laptop to tune it. Can I use my existing license on the new laptop or do I have to buy a new license aswell?

He would need to purchase a licence if you wish to keep it. I'm quite flexible giving the option to transfer it but you cannot transfer and keep the existing licence also

alright. Then most likely I'll keep the license for myself, cause he can't tune anyway. I'll have to help him if there's any problem. But how does nistune keep track of what computer it's on?

My current license, I bought "used" with my first type 2 board, and it's not under my name. Can you delete that license and give me a new one under my own name?
