Blazt USB consult cables

Post by Matt »

Just wondering how many people are using these cables?

I have had a reported issue with Type 3 boards today disconnecting due to the 'corrupted data' error message.

They switched from Blazt to PLMS (serial) cable and problem went away.

The 'corrupted data' error message occurs when data we receive from the ECU does not match match the data sent. Investigating this issue and a 'workaround' but wondering how many people actually use these cables with NIStune

PLMS USB cable is what I use on the bench so I dont notice this issue

I use PMLS serial lead. It seems very robust.

i had no end of trouble with blatz cables and problems, with nistune, datascan, and a generic serial prog.

blatz say they are more stable than plms cables - i would disagree.

thanks. thats what i thought. i suspect there could be USB-Serial converter problems with the chip that they use

most people wouldn't notice problems with NissanDataScan, because this only requests data and doesn't verify response... then displays streamed data.

sometimes on dodgy adaptors/connections you will notice the guages 'flicker' when corrupted data is received.

NIStune sends command/response packets and verifies each one. This is necessary especially for rom downloads and consult uploads (having a dodgy adaptor and uploading bad timing values would not be good)

this is why you are more likely to get an error reported by NIStune than other consult software

strange you say that matt. I find nissan datascan really unreliable for rom downloads, Nistune has not failed on me once yet.
