need help:logging boost and air fuel

Post by fluked777 »

Hi everybody, not sure where to post this question and ill try and be as clear as possible...

I am trying to log boost using the mpx4250+dlp-io8 while also logging my air fuel using my innovate lc1 wideband which is connected via usb. Wide band works fine and is logging in nistune. (1 usb port for the map, 1 usb port for the lc1)

Nistune>configuration>wideband lookup tables location> innovate
first wideband is selected as innovate mts
second wideband i chose dlp-ad converter

I modified the aux1.csv file for the mpx4250 located in the innovate wideband folder

now everything plugged in and the correct com ports selected for the lc1 and the mpx4250

i connect wideband lh unit and i get the air fuel displayed as normal, nothing else appears in the gauge panel, i connect rh wideband and i get almost identical reading on the second gauge window, it appears to be displaying airfuel and not the pressure.

Could someone please tell me what im doing wrong, how to log both air fuel and boost, thanks!!

Any info on this?
To log both AFR and boost do you need to use two seperate usb inputs on your laptop? Or can a boost sensor and AEM wideband serial output be on one DLP A/D converter and use only one usb for this on the laptop?

You have two options
1. First wideband input make DLP and then feed the AFR 1V output from the LC-1 into this, and boost on AUX 1
2. First wideband input make DLP, second wideband make LC-1 and it will log as AFR RHS

Is that only for Innovative wide band?

What's the best way to hook up an AEM uego wide band and mpx4250 map sensor?
I want to use the serial output from the wideband.
BTW it's for a Z32 ecu with type 2 board just in case.

Nistune was only ever written originally for the first sensor. The second sensor (AFR) was added for the Z32 300ZX to have a right hand side output

To use something like boost as an input (but not wideband) then you need to select that as AUX on the first wideband, and AUX on the second wideband

I'll look later on this year making it bit more configurable but needs a rewrite of some wideband code

I'm still a little confused about exactly what I will need to buy to be able to log air fuel ratio and boost.
I already have an AEM wideband.

-what boost sensor is best that can read up to 25 or maybe 30 psi?
(Is the Motorola MPX2450 the best for the money?)

-USB to serial cable or can a single DLP A/D converter cable be used to hook up both the AEM wideband and the boost sensor ?

BTW this is gonna be used with a Z32 ecu.

Yes use the motorola sensor and the DLP A/D converter. I've got those here too. I then feed my AFR into the DLP also and make that Wideband1

As I mentioned I'm thinking perhaps a standalone wideband configuration window to allocate 'channels' from two devices so they can be combined

Does the motorola MPX4250 also measure vacuum or only boost?
How much do you sell the DLP a/d converter and motorola MPX4250 for? I didn't see it on the website?

I see that the MPX4250 is only good for 21 psi of boost.

Will this be better for 25-28 psi of boost?

Thanks

I don't sell those boost sensors! You can use whatever sensor if you have the lookup table to convert it 0-5 volts in the software

The MPX4250 (Gauge) measures boost from 0-36.259 psi.

I went with this one:
http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_ ... cts_id=122

the mpx4250 reads up to 36 psi absolute (PSIA) which is about 21 psi on the gauge (PSIG)

The one I bought reads up to 43.5 absolute PSIA which is about 28 PSIG

Info here about absolute pressure and a converter and conversion table

There are several different models of the MPX4250. MPX4250GP is the gauge version. MPX4250AP is the absolute version. If you get the gauge version I believe it measures 0-36 gauge.
