I had an older version of nistune running on my antique windows 7 computer. It worked great. I recently decided to get my car on the road after sitting for years. I had to change the injectors, as 3 of them were bad. I was able to connect to the ECU, I made some adjustments and the car idled and ran fine.
I decided to update my nistune software and now Nistune will not even run. I tried older versions and no help. Ultimately unistalled and reinstalled nistune 1.4.7, rom pack.2.14, FP 2.0 and microsoft visual 2015. All no help. I keep getting 3 errors.
They are :
"The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-|1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix ths problem."
"Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 set up failed. One or more issued caused the set up to fail. Please fix the issue and then retry set up. 0x80240017 - Unspecified error."
"Unable to execute file:
C:\Program Files\Nistune\FTDI_Win2K_XP_Vista_Drivers\dpinst-i386
CreateProcess failed; code 2.
The system cannot find the file specified."
The laptop I'm using is about 10 years old but nistune worked on it until I tried to update it.
Toshiba satellite, A215. Running windows 7. Last software update on computer, maybe 2016.

Re: Nistune will not open after update
Nevermind. i figured it out. It took all of last night and this morning. I had to update windows 7 then remove/install/repair the microsoft C++, then Remove and reinstall Nistune - enter my key.
Happy tuning everyone.

Re: Nistune will not open after update
I'll have to retry this on a Win7 Virtual machine. We did testing on a clean windows 10 and it needed the 2015 C++ Redistributable. There appears to be some Microsoft specific error with your laptop and that package from Microsoft
The other error is strange, as from Windows Vista, the {app} folder should be Program Files (x86) not Program Files which you have in the error:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nistune\FTDI_Win2K_XP_Vista_Drivers
The dpinst-x86.exe could not be found because of the path difference. Only Windows XP has that naming, which is a bit confusing. Like Nistune was installed in the wrong windows location. It is only for the drivers, which are only installed if you check the ''drivers' check box
These can be run manually if required by navigating to the correct folder and running dpinst-x86.exe direct from there
