Data log ignition timing is not matching cell values

Post by CoL »

Hey, i'm trying to figure out where this 9 Deg is coming from at WOT. When i play back the log, the data logger is saying 9 deg, while my timming map and knock timming map are no where near that.

I have also noticed that when i'm driving the the fuel map, knock fuel map, timming map, and knock timming map are all high lighted in red. is this normal?

i attached my bin and log file.

if you could take a look, it would be much appreciated!

Well i did more testing and i`m coming to the conclution that the cell values will never match exacly. Im about 12-14 deg different from my tables to my logger.

Can someone confirm that the bottom line is, i should be trusing my logger...

thanks

Will have a look at it. It interpolates the values and then can adjust depending if any knock or coolant temperature differences. Consult value logged is accurate though

ok, thanks for the reply. i was out on the highway testing and i did a knock copy of my timming map, and set most of my cells to 26deg. while i'm crusing the map matches the logger perfectly, but as soon as i get into the upper right cells, the timming dips down to 12deg.

Heres the log ( in stream mode.) if ur interested

thanks alot.

I had a look at the log and can see the timing is just getting pulled way out from 26 degrees

The only thing I can find fault with is the battery voltage is going extremely high. Over 16 volts

I suspect this may be causing the ECU to pull out timing as the RPMs increase (because of battery voltage)

Tried to repeat on my bench with 11.6 power supply voltage but my CAS simulator (4 cyl output) is stuffed so cannot repeat here.

Please check your alternator regulator since it shouldnt normally exceed 14V... and 16V is unusually high
