Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
Could you make the fields for the .bin files larger or dynamically adjust it to the length of the file name?
Many .bins have longer file names in order to describe them.
Often they differ at the end (version number), but if the last part of the file name is cut off it's
a guessing game.

Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
Problem is the panel wont fit on smaller screens. Every change has a consequence!
Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
Hmmm
I think there are not any screens out there with a resolution under 1024 as for x.
The panel is about 760 wide, so there is some space available.
Why not make the panel resizeable?
But maybe you could display the full file name when the mouse is over it?
(In case we have to wait for the last EGA-Screens to die?)
C'mon, it's 2011!

Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
People are using PCs like the Asus PCs which around about a 800x600 screen resolution
Tooltip for expanding the file name is definately an option

Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
Hi Matt,
If you'd check in your code what the screen resolution is, you could adjust the panel to
support nowadays screen-resolutions. Then you also could put more items in there.
Also I think the percentage of 800x users is < 0.1%, so you should do the rest of us the favour

Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
You could also move the six buttons into two rows of three... as well as shorten the word compare to comp and move the menus in question...

Sorry but that took me about two minutes but you get the idea...

Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
Maybe be able to drag the buttons and fields to where you want them just like the windows taskbar?
then right click and select to lock them in place...

Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
Icons are going to change soon anyway to have... um more of them
That panel could be resized but auto moving all those icons around is a pain
Tooltip is a 5 second job so I'll do that for now
You forgot in the above picture the ECU ID and REV ID (essential!). Its the first thing I ask when I have a customer on the phone having issues with a particular ECU

Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!

Also you could possibly disply the .bin name in the titel area of the fuel/ignition maps

Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
I meant here:
Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
Thats what I thought. It would be necessary to update the title each time the main view changes to something else.
Also would look funny on smaller screens when the windows are made smaller and only the 1/4 of the file name appears... also having it appear on every window that opens may look strange?

Re: Filename (bin) visibility / field enlargement!
Hi ..
I think it would be alright since if you re-size windows now, the text is cut off as well (if too small)
I would like the file name in the title because sometimes I get confused about which window has what context.
(When opening 2 instances of Nistune)
But as I said, there are many opinions when it comes to GUIs.
And since when are you working on Sundays?
