SR20DE+T and R35 slot MAF

Post by WalknBullzEye »

At this moment my engine, SR20DE+T, makes 415hp at the crank with a Z32 MAF. I would like to upgrade this MAF and get a slot R35 MAF + a fresh remap on the dyno.

Is an original Nissan R35 MAF enough for 450 hp max? Or should I get the HPX N1?
I don't want a sensor which is too small, but also not too big. For example, you don't put 1000cc injectors in a 150hp engine.

If the sensor voltage goes from 0-5V max, it would be nice to be in the 0-4V range, I guess?

I don't have any experience with the slot MAFs. I hope you can help me with this.

By the way. The Z32 needs 12V power. The slot MAFs only use 5V, am I correct?

Both MAFs use 12V power input

R35 MAF has lower range than Z32.... so HPX is your best choice. It works fine with my 200rwkw S14 also even if lower on the power side

Thanks Matt for you answer. Which HPX is the best for a SR20DE+T with NIStune? The HPX N1?

Yes only HPX-N1 for Nissan models is recommended (and what I stock)
