NIStune 0.922 update available

Post by Matt »

Fixes for:
10509 Moates comms error when PC has COM ports built in Problem with COM ports not being able to be set to extra high rates. Cleaned up comms closure code handling

10513 NIStune takes a long time to load since 0.912b AFR table allocated for averages too big. 1000 count maximum introduced as temporary fix

10514 Zexel address file now crashes NIStune when loaded No VQ map caused divide by zero when calculating a division of size vs volts. Workaround set to 1 when unavailable

10515 Disable Moates maptracing tickbox / autodisable when ECU not powered
Stability improved with emulator code (follows similar changes made recently to consult code) to handle com port issues when we try 921000bps on a serial port designed to handle max 115200bps

Dont worry about it then since it wont affect you :)

NIStune supports various emulators (Moates Ostrich and Pocket Romulator) and some updates were required for these units. Problems were found with autodetecting these units

Moates firmware update / NIStune 0.9232

Post by Matt »

Attached is the latest firmware release for Moates Ostrich 2.0 emulator 20.90

NIStune 0.9232 uploaded as of tonight will display your vendor ID and serial number in the status bar at the bottom of the screen for the Moates units

If this shows vendor ID not equal to zero then press CTRL-SHIFT-V to reset the vendor ID once you are connected

One customer has his unit programmed with Vendor ID=3 and uploads do not work for him. This update is to address this issue

Further updates. Fix for 10513 caused a crash due to introduced bug. When the counter used for AFR averaging went over > 1000 caused crash. We now reset the average counter when it hits this number and restart cacluating average for AFR etc

I'm going to work on a better way to record averages for 16x16 grid with numerous AFR entries being recorded in it so it doesnt chew up a lot of memory like it was in earlier 0.92 releases

I've been testing out Type 4 boards again (ER34, Y33 and S15 this week). The S15 looks more stable now due to minor h/w modification. Will try out in a vehicle hopefully next week

Maybe you'll have a chance to play with the U13 KA ECU *wink**wink*

Thats the aim!

Y33 runs the best with no dropouts at all (but doesnt STORE its image so I need to purchase a Logic Analyser this week to investigate further) and now S15 seems to be running well on the bench and awaiting vehicle testing.

ER34 is still dropping out very often and needs more investigation. The U13 is getting put back on the bench tomorrow night

That's wonderful to hear. Hopefully it won't prove to be too much of a pita.
