tuning in cams, anyone had a go ?

Post by r31_gav »

hi

i'm an going to give tuning in cams a go

i was thinking that adjusting the k constant would be a start but maybe also the point and length of injection as well but not 100% sure

does anyone have experience in this? or suggestions?

thanks

I wouldnt have though you would need to change the k constant. That will change fuel across the whole rev range, different cams are going to make engine breath different at certain rpms. For instance, at idle, the air going in is limited by engine speed, not valve lift or cam duration.

I could be wrong though, i would have thought its just a matter of tuning individual cells to match air flow change bought about by a different cam or cam timing.

Id say if you already have your AFR pretty good, then the cams arent gonna make a lot of difference.
you should really be asking about how you can play with the timing maps to take advantage of your new cams 8)
