For that ECU see the software manual on the website under 'documents'

Section 14
Upgrading early model ECU MAF hardware. There are pictures on how to do the upgrade

*** We need to update this, since a 5.1 volt zener diode needs to also be added between the input signal and ground to limit the top voltage so it doesnt damage the A/D converter chip ***

I've made a note to get another picture added to this thread

For the Cobra conversion see Page 5 of the following

it's ok for cobra maf connect, but not for upgrad my ECU.
the picture off ECU in NIStune Software Installation and Users Manual and in Type 1 Rev 3 Hardware Installation Manual Are not identical,my ecu is as american model 1987 but for upgrad it I have to follow the instructions section 14 for ecu on 1984-1986.
Would have he a person there who speaks francais to help me?

Thats correct

No problems. It keeps the documentation up to scratch so everyone finds it easier as we go

Your English is better than my French

I've updated the software documentation the other week with photos of the zener diode. Please see the AFM page with updated pictures

hate to be a bother, but i am confused on this. i looked at the user manual, pg 32 which is the one that talks about the 87-89 ecu and i see no mention of the diode although it is there for the other ecu's.

If you have the USDM ECU shown in the manual for 1987-89 then dont worry about the zener diode

The European 1988 ECUs are the same as the USDM 1986 style ECUs so need the same modifications

I'm looking at this particular mod right now, because on these earlier ECUs we are bypassing the opamp but I'm noticing that the lower end voltages are reporting a little off compared to what I'm measuring with the meter
