Understanding "knock map"

Post by groundscraper »

My nistune has been instaled recently, i´ve been reading quite alot and trying to make it work properly by myself.

One thing i don´t understand is how does knock map works:

Does it switch when it senses knock? For how much time? Does it return to normal map after?

I´ve had chipped gtir ecu on, before nistune, and it was almost spot on, on AFR´s but knocking higher up the rev range if i set the timing to 20º... i´ve uploaded that tune to the nistune and noticed the knock timing map is pretty much the same as "normal", is it supposed to be like that?

Hope i express myself well. Thx in advance
